Over the years, John Deneuve has been developing a protean visual universe, creating drawings, situations, and texts that are generally half-aloof, half-ironic. Most of the time, she parodies clichés, communication neologisms, and nonsense. She adopts a naïve, straightforward approach, producing rudimentary but highly expressive ballpoint-pen drawings alongside poetic texts, allowing the drawing or the text to take on a new meaning. Readers are invited to take part in the book’s project by making playful personal connections.
